14 F.FWD button- Press to rapidly advance the tape,
or to view the picture rapidly in forward during the
Play mode. (Forward Search)
SLOW [+]function- Press to control speed in
slow motion. (faster)
15 VOLUME buttons- Press to adjust desired vol-
ume level by using either "A" or "y" button.
16 PLAY button- Press to playback the tape.
17 PAUSE/STILL button-Press to temporarily
stop the tape during the Recording mode or to view
a still picture during the Play mode.
18 COUNTER MEMORYbutton- Press to use the
Counter Memory mode. (See page 23.)
19 ADD/DELETE button- Press to add or delete
channelnumbers. Pressto cancela timerprogram.
(This function is operative only in the Menu mode.)

COUNTER RESET button- Press to reset
counter to 0:00:00.
20 SLOW button -Press in playback for slow mo-
tion. Slow speed can be controlled by pressing
F.FWD button (faster) or REW button (slower).
21 MONITOR button- Press to turn the TV/VCR
screen on and off when in the Recording mode.
22 CHANNEL buttons-Press to select desired
channel by using either "A" or '_'" button. They
cannot be used during Recording mode.
They may also be used to adjust the picture control.

TRACKING function- Press"." or '_'" button
to adjustto minimize video 'noise' (linesordotson
screen) during the Play mode. (See page 32.)
23 MUTE button- Press to mute sound. Press itagain
to resume sound.
24 SLEEP button- Press to activate the sleep func-
tion. (See page 32.)
Press the tab to the direction of the arrow.
Pivot the cover up as shown by the arrow.
Insert 2 "AAA" batteries into thc battery compartment
in the direction as indicated by the polarity (+/-) mark-
ings.
Replace the cover.
